Abstract: In August 2018 the 10th International Conference on Urban Climate (ICUC-10) was held in the City University of New York. In this paper, the latest developments of urban meteorology were summarized according to the ICUC-10 reports, including climate change adaptation and mitigation in urban environments, urban planning and governance with climate, new observational techniques to study urban climate, numerical studies of urban environments, megacity climate, urban remote sensing and extreme weather in cities, etc. Based on the summaries we analyzed the research direction of urban meteorology on the basis of urbanization characteristics of Chinese cities.
