Abstract:
Fengyun-4 (FY-4) is a new generation of geostationary meteorological satellite in China. The newly used three-axis stabilized attitude control platform can greatly improve observation precision as well as frequency. It also puts forward improved requirements towardsflexible observation mode design of the instruments. Advanced geostationary radiation imager (AGRI) is the most advanced equipment of its kind. Making good use of advanced equipment and improving observation efficiency play an important role in meteorological services, which is the essence of the meteorological satellite application. This paper discusses the observation modes of the FY-4 imager, and puts forwardflexible area observation schemes for different needs for thefirst time. Theseflexible observation schemes can satisfy different observation requirements over typical areas. This research plays an important role in the FY-4A in orbit tests, which lays a foundation for AGRI's daily operation.
