Abstract:
The design and implementation of the environment of the CMA Testbed and Proving Ground for Weather Forecast(TPGW) are in the initial and exploration stage. The testbed for TPGW in the forecasting hall of the National Meteorological Centre of CMA is centered; the simulated operational environment and data are established; the high computing resources for the test of the introduced achievements are built; the implementation of the verification system for the combination between research and operation is tried; the work website for TPGW is constructed. The testbed is suited with the main technology direction of the introduced achievements; the simulated operational environment, data, computing and storage resources are mainly built for the forecast of quantitative precipitation and severe weather. The high computing resources are designed compatibly with the main technological achviements running platforms, such as Windows, Linux and AIX; the computing and storage resources are supplied flexibly; the annual computing resources are between 5000 and 10000 CPU cores, and the annual storage resources are between 10 and 20 TB. The verification system for the combination between research and operation is designed as a interactive objective verification platform; the verification method is open and can be given by the users; the objective verification among the introduced achievements and the existed operational numerical model forecast products can be done; the management and the plot analysis of the verification results are also supported. The work website for TPGW is aimed to offer information as much as possible and to be convenient for the work interaction; it emphasizes the work dynamic, technology communication and summary related to the joint discuss and achievements transformation, to help the researcher and forecaster to quickly acquire the related information with TPGW.
