Abstract: This paper summarizes the development history of satellite remote sensing application of Hainan Provincial Meteorological Bureau, introduces the achievements in the application of weather forecast, meteorological disaster monitoring and assessment, ecological civilization construction and meteorological guarantee, and analyzes the shortcomings in the work. In the future, according to the special plan for the application and development of meteorological satellites of the China Meteorological Administration, a comprehensive application system of remote sensing at the provincial level with perfect functions and outstanding features will be established to improve the application capacity of microwave remote sensing in the marine meteorological business, to enhance the service capacity of monitoring the marine meteorological disasters and ecological environment, such as storm surge and ocean water color, to provide remote sensing support for the implementation of comprehensive deepening reform and opening up and the construction of “three areas and one center” in Hainan.
