Abstract:
To meet the service demand of severe convective weather monitoring and early warning, the key technologies of convective initiation (CI) identification based on satellite remote sensing at home and abroad are compared and the research progress of CI identification based on satellite multispectral channel information and on different space-borne satellite observation instruments are also analyzed and discussed. The future development for improving the timeliness and accuracy of CI identification is proposed accordingly. It is necessary to strengthen the fusion of satellite multi-channel and multi-sensor data and the integration with weather radar, and to make full use of machine learning, big data processing and other analysis technologies so as to improve the capability of CI monitoring and warning services effectively.
