Abstract:
Meteorological cultural heritage is an integral part of cultural heritage system, representing a unique and irreplaceable aspect of the history. This paper aims to define the concept of meteorological cultural heritage by examining its research progress. Through methods such as field research and literature analysis, the study puts forward a two-tier classification system for meteorological cultural heritage, including material and intangible categories, which are further divided into nine subcategories in total. The historical, scientific, social, and cultural values of such heritage are discussed in detail. Additionally, this paper highlights prevailing issues concerning the preservation and application of meteorological cultural heritage, and outlines future research emphases and developmental pathways, intending to offer theoretical support, research frameworks and practical references to boost the overall performance of meteorological cultural heritage preservation and application.
