The Assessment of Meteorological Services for Transportation in Guizhou Province

  • Based on the weather service survey of the transportation industry and the social public, conducted by Guizhou Province Meteorological Service Center, this paper evaluates the survey result. The results show that the degree of emphasis in transportation employees on traffic meteorological services is significantly higher than the general public. The satisfaction rate of transportation practitioners and the public with the meteorological services for transportation unanimously reached 80%. Most people are very sensitive to meteorological factors, the most concerned and sensitive meteorological factors are road icing, fog, haze, heavy rain and snow. The concern and request of the public and traffic practitioners is not consistent; the access to obtain weather information of the public and transportation practitioners is also somewhat different; as for the form of service products, transportation practitioners like the literal products, better than the public who tend to other choices. The transportation practitioners are concerned about traffic forecasts mostly in the morning, while the public did so mostly in the morning and at nightfall.
