Climate Comfortablity Assessment of Human Settlements in Bazhong Based on GIS

  • Based on the temperature and humidity index evaluation model, the annual, seasonal and monthly climate comfortablity of Bazhong were calculated and evaluated through the ArcGIS10.2, with the meteorological data from 25 weather stations in Bazhong from 1991 to 2020 and DEM data. The results show that the annual number of days with comfortable air temperature is 140-168 d in the central and southern Bazhong, and 47-100 d in the middle and high mountain areas in the north. The most widely distribution of comfortable air temperature zones is in spring and autumn (April, May, September and October). In midsummer (July to August), the climate in low mountain and river valley is not comfortable because of the heat and the humidity, while the climate in the northern middle and high mountain area is comfortable, conducive to the development of summer tourism. Winter (December, January and February) is accompanied with low climate comfortablity in most parts of Bazhong.
